In order to facilitate international co-operation and communication between partners, the Nordic trade union organisations and FNV, the Netherlands have agreed upon joint guidelines.
As funding organisations, we hope that these guidelines will help us meet requests for assistance from various trade union organisations in our own countries or from the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Global Union Federations (GUFs) or trade unions in developing countries. In the preparation of these guidelines, we have taken into account those already applied by different GUFs and the ITUC.
We have tried to make the information contained in this document as clear and as straightforward as possible. There are some differences in the criteria and conditions for financial support applied by the different funding organisations. This is because we also make use of public funds made available by our respective government agencies for international co-operation. Where possible, however, we have harmonised our requirements.
These guidelines should serve as models to build partnerships, improve and strengthen co-operation and simplify the necessary administrative tasks at all levels.
To facilitate the planning process and to clarify application and reporting procedures, some annexes are attached to this document. They should be regarded as useful tools, not as injunctions. Please note that these annexes do not apply to co-operation projects with LO-Norway.
